HFIL's first escape! (complete)

Spending his time as he usually did, Charlie was drifting through the valley crushing souls who just so happened to cross his path. An occasional one here or there would manage to get a scream out before being obliterated, but it didn't help their chances. As soon as his blast landed, they would dematerialize and reform at the entrance gate, as did all souls who were dissolved after dieing.

A small poof of smoke was blown away, as another victim was incinerated instantly. Without showing any reaction, Charlie simply wiped the remaining smudge off of his cheek and continued walking, down to the side of the red lake. The waves of blood rolled and crashed onto the shores. This would normally be a frightening sight to any newer souls, but Charlie frequented this lake and was partial to it due to the constant silence that was a result of it's appearance.

The water flowed out, as if it were being drunk by someone with a large straw, and then was returned just as gently. A small breeze rolled by, carrying a few jagged strands of pollen with it, but these were no ordinary tufts of pollen such as the ones he vaguely remembered from his previous life. No, these were born from a plant that is quite common in Hell. They were made of a Kachink, a substance that is known to be the most sturdy mineral in the Universe. These plants would grow pistils and from these pistils were produced the material known as Kachink. So, naturally, these fragmented strands of Kachink began to slice and prick Charlie exposed flesh.

"Ouch!" Charlie complained, grabbing the side of his face. Diving behind the nearest boulder, on the side of the lake, Charlie looked up and saw the strands glimmer as they refracted light from the nearest source. His hands began to sting as he saw them turn red, and slowly begin to seep blood to the surface. Within seconds, his arms and legs were all doing the same, as minuscule slices had been made all over his body.

"Ugh! This is enough!" he shouted to the emptiness, "I have to get out of here! I can't take it!" The ground began to quake under the pressure of him, his power growing very sharply. His hands clenched as he charged up his rage, allowing it to flow through his veins. Charlie let it flow down to his heels, as he rocked back and threw himself to the skies.

"AGGGHHH!" Charlie hollered as he broke the sound barrier, going faster and faster. His teeth began to grind as he bit down harder and harder, his passion growing inside of him. Time no longer had an effect on him, as he blast through the atmosphere and a large ripping sound arrived moments later. Suddenly a darkness enveloped him, sucking him outwards, further away from the surface of which he had just came.

The hole was deep and endless as it pulled harder on him, begging him to give up and let it take him. Giant arrangements of blue and magenta, and colors he had never seen before, began to pour out of the hole that had appeared in front of his very eyes! With a moments hesitance, as he stared at the amazing colors, the vacancy took advantage of him and drew him in. The darkness absorbed him as he lost consciousness, the last image he saw was one last sparkle from the Kachink breeze, far off in the distance.





What seemed to feel like weeks later, Charlie finally awoke from his nightmare. A sort of pressure began on his back and immediately changed from pressure to a distinct warmth, something that never occurred in Hell.

Charlie rolled onto his back as he opened his eyes, looking towards the sky. But what looked back at him was not the darkness that was the norm in hell, what stared back was his long-lost friend: the Sun.
